At Shibden Head Primary Academy we follow The Bradford Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. The syllabus allows pupils to describe, explain and analyse religious concepts through structured investigation, reflection and response.
Carefully planned and delivered RE sessions, visits to places of worship and visits from faith leaders enable our children to understand and appreciate religious and non-religious beliefs and the significance and impact they have.
Celebrating diversity and respect is at the heart of our RE curriculum and we welcome viewpoints and beliefs of all children within our school, both religious and non-religious. Religious celebrations are recognised through assemblies which equip pupils with systematic knowledge and understanding of a range of religions and worldviews, enabling them to develop their ideas, values and identities.
We allow pupils to explore all aspects of main religions of the world, we do not teach the children to practise any of those faiths.
