Proud to be part of the Focus-Trust

Shibden Head Primary Academy

At Shibden Head Primary Academy we follow The Believing and Belonging RE syllabus 2024-2029.

The syllabus allows pupils to describe, explain and analyse religious concepts through structured investigation, reflection and response.

Carefully planned and delivered weekly RE sessions, visits to places of worship and visits from faith leaders enable our children to understand and appreciate religious and non-religious beliefs and the significance and impact they have.

Celebrating diversity and respect is at the heart of our RE curriculum and we welcome viewpoints and beliefs of all children within our school, both religious and non-religious. Religious celebrations are recognised through assemblies which equip pupils with systematic knowledge and understanding of a range of religions and world views, enabling them to develop their ideas, values and identities.

We allow pupils to explore all aspects of main religions of the world, we do not teach the children to worship any of those faiths.
